Dr. Melchiore Buscemi was born and raised in New York. Biology was his major at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, where he got his degree. Dr. Buscemi was a volunteer firefighter and a good cellist while he was in college. He often played in Off-Broadway shows in different parts of New York. Dr. Buscemi went to The Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico, for medical school. During his third and fourth years, he did clinical rotations at Wyckoff Heights Hospital in New York City. He did an internship at Queens Hospital in Queens, New York, and got his medical degree from the State University of New York in 1984.
